The QUHL Directory does provide it’s own cool web directory presentation. This is the first web directory we have seen that provides a brief story and introduction about their penguin mascot named Willie Quhl (pronounced kewl or as we understand it cool). You can actually follow Willie on Twitter here.

You can search for useful websites by categories, tags, newest, most popular, or designate specific criteria with their Super Search. New submissions are displayed on the homepage until newer submissions bump them off and your website will be randomly visible on the homepage every day. There are currently over 600 website listings within the directory, so your site should receive good placement within its appropriate category. Each websites detail page provides larger screenshot images of each website, as well as, screenshots of the internal pages designated by you, the submitter. You can also provide your RSS feed and Twitter username so that your feeds and tweets display on your websites detail page.

Wow, what a substantial makeover since the last time we reviewed Realitist.com General Web Directory. Our screenshot does not do this directory justice. You should really check it out for yourself because we may have underestimated this directory initially.

The new color scheme is clean, bold and refreshing. The directory loads quickly and efficiently from our end. There are a few ads here and there, but nothing obnoxious at all. Nothing wrong with a little supplemental income, just look to the right, lol.

For those of you who are more receptive to visual learning, you will enjoy navigating the unique waterfront town. If your cursor gets tired from walking around town, there is a full category structure just below for easy navigation.

The directory is starting to show up for some quality keywords lately as well, including internet web directory, web directory, and general web directories.

Other additions:

The new Video Section allows users to search for celebrity videos from 100’s of categories. You could spend days watching different videos of your favorite celebrity.

The new “TV on PC” section was cool too. You can watch millions of television video clips from around the world. No matter what your interests are, there is a video category for everyone including business, comedy, documentary, music, news and sports, just to name a few.

Findelio Web Directory has been around for years and this site receives high volumes of traffic from many different countries. This is a great directory for webmasters trying to gain a global audience for their sites. Findelio incorporates a regional category structure providing visitors with easy access to websites from their region of interest. The actual directory is located at the sub-domain directory.findelio.com. In order to submit a website, you must navigate to the appropriate category and the “Submit Site” link will appear on the left side. Sorry, we could not find any current Promo Codes for submission discounts, but their non-sponsored listing are permanent which provides good value. There is also a Blog Directory setup within the main directory category structure.

Stats:
Traffic is 39% from India, 19% US, 13% UK, and 29% from everywhere else. About 80% of all traffic is delivered from organic searches on Google and Yahoo.

Recent Sites Added to Findelio Web Directory

Realitist.com general web directory has over 4000 website listings. A small amount of organic visitors come by way of the keyword “web directory.” The homepage states that this is “The Fire Breathing Directory”, so be careful. At least the $5 non-refundable review fee won’t burn your wallet much. I am not completely sure why when the site loads there is a great deal of data communication with the site mirror.nbstatic.com. I am pretty sure it is the banner advertisements. All it does is effect website speed. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive backlink you can submit your site to Realitist.com.

Suggest-Url.Org business web directory is a paid directory comprised of spam-free website listings. As claimed in the header, this directory does contain “seo friendly” urls from the category pages to the individual link detail pages. The owners do offer a refund if your website is not accepted. Submitting additional deep links is not an option. Some webmasters debate that this only improves the weight of the one link you submit because the directory has less outgoing links overall. We will let you decide for yourself.

The most powerful keyword sending search engine traffic to Suggest-Url is “add url.” Additional keywords sending organic traffic to this directory include: web directory, business directories, and suggest url. From our location, Yahoo lists Search-Url.org first for the keyword “suggest url” which some may interpret as an easy accomplishment, based on the domain name, but Google kicks the site back to the third page. So apparently it’s not that easy as one might expect. We will have to wait and see where it moves in the future. This shows how domain name choice can slightly effect your search engine ranking. Now on to the statistics…
